辽阔的大地，寒风凛冽；一头的雄鹿傲立于悬崖之上俯视着脚下挺拔的杉树；而那深悠的峡谷则沉默在褐色的晚霞之中。群鹰盘旋，一声声长鸣似乎在倾诉着什么，追忆着什么。一片羽毛，缓缓地飘落在悬崖边上，狂风袭来，瞬间无影无踪。以上这段文字就是我在聆听《Sacred Spirit- Chants & Dances of Native Americans》专辑时，脑中所呈现出来的画面，一片无穷无尽的褐色，沉默而哀伤……
在具体介绍这张专集之前，请大家先看看以下这一段文字：在1855年的时候，Siletz族（印地安一族）生活在美国俄勒冈洲大约一百万英亩的土地上。在1954年的时候，俄勒冈洲只剩下方圆三十六英亩的Siletz族墓地。同时间，所剩无几的Siletz族民被要求缴交土地税，昂贵的赋税没有多少人成承受得起，以至在1960年的时候，残余的Siletz族人也流离失所，星散各地成为无家可归的流浪者。在60年代末期，Siletz族首领们发动了大规模的运动要求联邦政府恢复印地安部族的国民身份，经过十多年的奋斗以及美国本土人权基金的资助，印地安部落终于在1977年的时候恢复了他们的地位。在1980年的时候，联邦政府正式在俄勒冈洲划出3600英亩的土地作为Siletz族的保留地。
这段文字，是CD册子里最后的一段文字，很不显眼，静静地躺在页面上。然而，当我细读了这段最不显眼的文字之后，再听着音乐里那苍桑的印地安音乐，心，实在痛得拧成一团。这音乐是异常沉重的，那里凝固着干涸的泪水和血迹，以及痛彻心扉的宽容。
如果，大家是在寻找一张能帮助放松心情的专集，又或是在找寻一种愉悦心灵的音乐的话，我奉给大家一句：跳过这个帖子，不要播放那些试听，这不是你们所想找的。这里的音乐太厚重，传达的信息太悲哀，这里有着太多令人落泪的片段，太多令人揪心的疼痛。然而，这却又是最发人深省的专集，那隐而不发的沉默，浓厚迥然的氛围再再令人感受到引地安人民那种对传承的重视以及对历史的抗争。这个，就是我个人最喜欢的印地安专集。它由Virgin公司于1994年发行，95年的时候获得格莱美最佳民乐专集的提名。也是这个专集，开启了THE BRAVE（原名Claus Zundel，是著名的德国录音室大师，他的另外一个出名的系列是B-Tribe B部落）最最出名的系列——Sacred Spirit。这个系列至今已经发行了九张，其中起码四张提名了格莱美。而这个专集和它的后续《More Chants And Dances Of Native Americans》一直是整个系列里销量最好的，全球销售超两百万张。
